Power Tube Fan Make-up Air System
Canada Blower Co. offers a PT Power Tube Make-Up Air System a sone of the most economical options for larger industrial plants ventilation air make up.
When exhaust fans are used to provide ventilation, both for industrial and process exhaust and personnel comfort, a negative air pressure is created within the building. This negative pressure causes several problems:
- Process exhaust systems are less efficient and may not work properly.
- Down flow can occur through gravity vents and result in the back venting of products of combustionfrom flues and stacks of heaters and process equipment.
- Drafts are created that are a dsicomfort to employees. Safe operating of outside doors may even be impaired.
Our Power Tube Fan Make-Up Air System solves all of these problems economically, even on the coldest winter day.
In the winter, conventional make-up air systems have to heat the cold outside air prior to introduction into the building. This is an expensive process in both equipment and continuing energy cost. The Power Tube Fan Make-Up Air System is a simplier system that utilizes wasted building heat and basic aerodynamic principles for supplying, tempering and distributing make-up air. And that makes it less expensive than conventional make-up air systems to purchase, to install and to operate.
PT Power Tube Fan Make-Up Air System uses a special propeller fan with straightening vanes and fan housing mounted to an opening in a building sidewall near the ceiling (an optional roof mounting model is available). A motor operated wall shutter is attached to the outside wall opening under a protective weather hood. A long specially constructed reinforced polyethylene tube is connected to the fan discharge orifice to carry fresh outside air throughout the building and temper it by mixing cold outside air with warm inside air near the plant ceiling before it reaches floor level.
Specially sized and spaced discharge holes in the polyethylene tube produce relatively high velocity turbulent jets of air. This turbulent jet flow swirls and mixes surrounding air particles resulting in the entrinment of the warm ceiling air and the complete tempering of very cold outside air within a relatively short distance. The result is heated make-up air at the price of unheated make-up air.
Power Tube Make-Up Air Fans are available in Sizes 18 to 48 for for air flows up to 40,000 CFM.
PT Power Tube Make-Up Air System tube is constructed of thick woven high density polyethylene fiber(8 x
laminated with poly coating to a thickness of 6 Mils. It is 3.8 oz. per square yeard material. Burst strength is 118 Lbs per square inch. The material is flame retardant and complied with NFPA Standard 701. Tubes are available in two colors: blue and white. One end of the polyethylen tube is factory dealed.
Sufficient make-up air should be provided to balance exhaust from general ventilation and process ventilation. Usually several Power Tube Fans will be required, located to distribute air throughout the plant. If additional tempering of make-up air in specific plant areas becomes necessary, unit heaters can be added.

How To Design Outdoor Fountains
Learning how to build your own outdoor fountain is not very difficult. If you want an outdoor fountain, you may be able to find the materials to build one in the home. Of course, you may think that buying the materials is a better way to get the design you want. Outdoor fountains are the perfect way to beautify your garden. If you want to know more, then keep reading.
With outdoor fountains, you should realize that there are some necessary materials you will need to get started. They include the retaining pool, water pump, tubing, waterproof electric connectors, silicone sealant, as well as any extra decorative features you wish to add.
Be sure that you take the time to find the proper place for your outdoor fountains, before you start digging. Ask the electric company to conduct a search for buried power cables before you start digging for the retaining pool. This service is totally free so use it before you have pay for any wires you accidentally cut.
When cleared by the company, you can start digging. The hole you dig for the retaining pool will need slightly larger dimensions than the pool itself to properly accommodate it.
Turning your attention to retaining pool, make a small opening in the side to insert the power cable for your water pump. The goal is to take your cable and run it to the middle of your pool. Remember that you need to use waterproof wiring to avoid shocking hazards. Once the cable has been inserted, you can then seal the hole with silicone sealant.
It is time to insert the retaining pool into the hole prepared for it. Outdoor fountains must be precisely positioned so be sure the retaining pool is a snug fit. Fill in the gaps with the extra dirt. You are now confident that you're making progress on your outdoor fountains project at this point.
Next, comes the installation of the fountain pump. Once you have the pump situated in the pool center, you can wire it up with those waterproof connectors. How you disguise your pump may make a difference on the style of the outdoor fountains since different materials like stones or rocks may be used. Your pump's power cables should be buried after the pump is completely installed so they are protected from the elements.
When you are ready to fill outdoor fountains with water the next step is determining if there are any leaks. If there are no drops in the water levels, you can start the pump. If you are sure that the pump is functioning properly, monitor the operation of the fountain for a few minutes. How you place the water pump can affect the performance of outdoor fountains.
Now that you can build your own outdoor fountains, you might step back to enjoy the pleasant sounds filling your garden. If outdoor fountains are properly cared for, they can last a lifetime, providing plenty enjoyment the whole time. These types of fountains also add value to your home and a touch of style.
(environmental question )is this the right thing to do?
i live in an apartment so all the rubbish goes to this special room (incinerator i think thats what its called). The room has like a hole on the wall - it's not that big really maybe about 30cm x 30cm big. and i guess its connected to some sort of tube and it will end up sumwhere for rubbish removal (not sure of the details )
so my question is... how do you guys chuck all your rubbish? i wanna start doing my bits for the environment but i heard that you're not suppose to put the rubbish inside a plastic bag!? then how am i gonna chuck my rubbish? i used the plastic bags that you get from supermarkets and well yeah they're small enough to fit on the walls....
It sounds like you live in those high rise apartment buildings. I guess the garbage are collected at a garbage dump on the 1st floor. City or contract waste management come to collect and send it to their regular waste disposed stream. They usually go to landfill (more common process).
You should put household garbage in a closed plastic bag. Most household garbage consists of unfinished food. Not only they make horrible smell, they will also attract animals, insects, etc. and create health concern.
Whether you live in high rise apartment building or single family house, etc., you need to separate the recyclable items from the garbage for collection.
