Best Ways To Get Wine Bottle Open
Almost everyone on the planet has had some experience of opening a bottle of wine as millions are produced every year. As wine become more and more popular, so there was an increasing array of methods developed to get the bottle open. Although the demand for these bottle opening devices had dropped recently due to the increase in screw top bottles, there are still a good number of corks out there that need removing and various different ways to do it.
Traditional Corkscrew – These have been around for a long time now and are still as effective as they ever were. Most people have some form of corkscrew in their home as part of a tableware sets, and if you know how to use one you can get a bottle of wine open in no time. It does take a little bit of effort however and they are not really suitable for people who have limited strength or dexterity in their hands.
Modern device – Advancements in technology have thrown up a number of different devices for making bottle opening a great deal easier. Some of these rely on advanced mechanics, like the winemaster corkscrew, which turn a straight forwards movement into a twisting one. Others rely on battery power that do all of the work for you, but you might as well buy a screw top if you need to use one of these
Saber - If you are the adventurous kind or a bit of a show off then you can saber a bottle of wine open. In the days of Napoleon, a champagne bottle was sabered in celebration of a victory. This basically involved taking the head of a champagne bottle cleanly and without shattering the glass. Just make sure there aren’t any crystal vases or bowls around when you swing that saber You also need soak the bottle neck in water first to expand the cork, then take the foil and wire off, before striking the top of the neck in a slicing motion, ideally way from you. Simple
All you need now is a couple of wine glasses and some good company, and you’re laughing
What are the standard opening hours for pubs in NSW?
I'm wanting to get a job at a pub next semester and was just wondering when they usually open and close on weekdays and weekends. This information will be very helpful in figuring out my Timetable. Thanks!
I'm currently in Sydney NSW.
Do you have your RSA?
I live in Newtown, and am surrounded by pubs - there seems to be little rhyme or reason.
I live directly across the street from the Carlisle Castle Hotel, and its hours are:
Weekdays 6pm-10pm;
Weekends 10am-10pm
It also has a bistro, which closes at 9:30.
