I wanted to do a research project for chemistry on nitroglycerin, and the teacher said it'd be really cool to do a demonstration, but only if its safe. So is there any way to demonstrate it effectively, efficiently, safely, and "cool" too? I'm just a high school kid, so it's not like I'm a pro at this.

You should find another project. Nitro is extremely dangerous and even experienced chemists should not handle or make it without vast experience in the field. Even extremely dilute solutions are controlled.
